PRECIOUS STONES, SEMI-PRECIOUS STONES, NATURAL STONES

We'll tell you everything!

At Ana&Cha, we only use natural stones for our jewelry.
What does this mean? No synthetic stones, no imitations : each stone comes from the earth, formed over time, then carefully selected, cut and worked before being set in our creations.

What is a precious stone?

We speak of precious stones for gems recognized for their hardness, purity, and rarity.

Traditionally, there are four of them: diamond, ruby, sapphire and emerald.

A closer look at the ruby

To better visualize, let's take one of the most iconic: the ruby .
Intense and luminous, it stands out for its deep red color and precious look, ideal for creating a piece of jewelry that catches the eye.

What is a gemstone?

And while precious stones are the most famous, semi-precious stones are those that offer the greatest richness of colours.

Formerly called “semi-precious”, they include many colored gems that are not among the four precious stones.

At Ana&Cha, they bring that touch of color that we love: amazonite , peridot , rhodolite , topaz … fresh, luminous and elegant shades.

And what about mother-of-pearl in all of this?

Mother-of-pearl is not a precious stone: it is a natural material of organic origin , produced by certain mollusks (such as oysters) to line the inside of their shells. This is precisely what gives it its recognizable iridescent reflections, a blend of softness and light.
